About Yurt
Incorporating the original design of the Californian yurt by designer David Raitt. As a completely modern structure, the new yurt chalet is uniquely warm and welcoming, and an ideal setting for a ski holiday, as well as a summer adventure base.
Made of standard building materials such as timber framing, cedar and pine, aluminum windows, and shingled roofing, and including all modern amenities and white wares, this dramatic chalet maximizes the effect of its extraordinary circular design to create an environment that is truly remarkable. Landscaped in eco-friendly natural flora and fauna.
Open Living Area
The centerpiece of the structure is its enormous central living area. The ceiling and roofline sit nearly four meters above the floor, with no support beams to encumber the space. The effect of the dome ceiling is truly dramatic, and the skylight allows plenty of light to pour into the spectacular space.
Along the outer rim of the nautilus are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which can easily sleep eight guests. The common living room area is home to the kitchen, laundry, Heat pump, and boast picture-view windows facing the majestic Mt Ruapehu to the north.
The yurts are fitted with all the modern conveniences and amenities, including refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and clothes dryer.
